BRCC Update 4 March 2026
Release Date: Wednesday 4 March 2026
In November 2025, Blairgowrie & Rattray Community Council was reestablished, following PKC-wide elections. A few long-serving members resigned, and we thank them for their valuable contributions to the well-being of the town: Steve Johnson, Pete Richardson and Pat Marshall. We welcome new members: Liam Airth and Maddie Brown, both Youth Representatives, as well as Amila Kitchingman. The other members are David Cuthill, Scott MacGregor, Gina Purrmann, Jamie Louise Morrison, Andy Scott and Lesley McDonald. If you are interested in joining your Community Council, please get in touch: [email protected]
Citizen of the Year
It is that time of year again: Citizen, Young Person and Community Group of the Year nominations are invited! Download a copy of the form here.
First Responders
Exciting news: the First Responders group received charitable status in January and had an initial meeting in February, which means it is all systems go for this new addition to our town’s resilience. If you are interested in joining, please email [email protected]
With our changing climate come more storms and their consequences.

Rooted in Rattray & Blairgowrie
BRCC’s Rooted in Rattray & Blairgowrie project is in its second year. Fruit trees commemorating babies born in 2025 were planted during January and February in Rattray, creating a new orchard, complementing the one planted in Blairgowrie last year to commemorate babies born in 2024. We hope to continue with this project in years to come. The idea came from Brebières, our French Twin Town. Babies born in Blairgowrie who share birthdays with babies born in Brebières will also be ‘twinned’!
Finally, a warm invitation to all in the community to attend our monthly open meetings: raise an issue, see your PKC Local Councillors in action, listen to what is going on. 7pm on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the BaRI Building and online. For more information or a link, email [email protected]
